Will Shimano ever make a 100 or even an 80 size?
Is there much difference between this hook and the chinlocks?
You turned me on to Zman baits and they are awesome! Everything I’ve tried seems to be top notch. Keep the great vids coming!!👍
I started using doa 7 years ago. I didn’t like the lack of action their paddle tails had. I tried the trout trick paddle tail in fried chicken color and I slayed the snook red and trout and it was also so much tougher and better action. They became my go to lures and never ever used doa again. Best by far on the market
I've had some pretty good luck using flukes so far this year
No twitching! I got it! Thanks capt! 😃
Looks like a mulletron could be wrong but that’s what it looks like to me
Name of bait please
Thanks for this. I’m not new to fishing, but I am new to tarpon fishing. I really appreciated the his video. Perfectly executed!
I like your T shirt,
Shocked myself Friday. Caught a 40" bull shark, on an nlbn mini-mullet. AND landed him with 30lb mono leader, hooked in corner of mouth. Crazy!! Great day for me, caught my 1st snook/red/trout slam too. Thanks for the great content Captian
I fish with the old school curado 300 dsv models I love em!
That bait is killer here in stuart.
Great advice! We skip for Black Bass and this will definitely help.
Is that a Z Man product Capt. C.A.? If so, what’s the name, please, thanks!
That looks so cool where can I get it
CRACKALACKIN !!!! I've never even seen a 10,000 size Real
The Shimano Saragosa 10000 you could drop down to 8000 but there’s not a huge weight difference
Around 2005-2006 I was working at West Coast powersports in Clearwater (Honda/Suzuki dealership)'I was a motorcycle salesman and I believe it was Eric that I sold a Honda CRF 50 right around Christmas time I believe, and the next day he brought me a box of around 7-8 "experimental" lures!!! If it wasn't him it was somebody that worked there great people
Great memory John, thanks for sharing
Bro, As a bass guide this video blew me away! I'm trying to get into the flats game now and coming from the bass game, that's what I'm talking about! Nice job
Thanks C. a. and Eric for a great video about L & S baits.
Would have been nice to see the presentation cast to the school? To highlight the technique your teaching in the video. You just showed her reeling it in....weird.
I’m a redfish guy, but I prefer to throw hard baits to them. Your EZ money 17mr has caught a lot of them and has really helped build my confidence with plugs. Just ordered some 27s in that color along with a few more. I promise you they are not just trout baits.
Awesome feedback and yes that old school Emerald Green color definitely fools the redfish and specks
Super interesting episode. I remember buying Mirror lures at a place called Golden Triangle in South Florida in the early 70s.
great video
Hard to beat a gulp new Penny shrimp. I’m going to try some zman this weekend and see how it goes but I know the reds love that new penny
Eric's a class guy and the integrity of L&S is a testament to their longevity! Shelby's on deck!
Yes, Eric has had the wheel of the ship and done an amazing job… the brand is definitely dominating saltwater hard bait category
Awesome Video and thanks for sharing all the information. Content like yours is super helpful for me. I will be in florida at the end of May for about a month. I hope I can finally catch a tarpon this year. Fingers crossed 🤞
I am rooting for you this summer
Tampa Bay’s guide secret- MirrOdine..
Yeah man!
Great Video CA. I grew up on the east coast of Florida( St. Lucie inlet ) fished many nights slinging the 52m series with my dad catching huge snook and trout, still have all those same lures.
Good memories with Mirrolure! Like hearing all the accounts and stories
aside from hunting fish. if you're not getting your lure or fly "hung up" you are not in the most productive area of the water column. great video.
Appreciate ya Jake
Great company and information.
Good people make this brand top knotch
This makes sense. Thank you for explaining it.
Salty Saul! Channel 13! What days those were. Still throw those double props more than anything else. Nobody else does.
You remember my friend… we are getting old
I am a big fan of mirror lures and caught plenty on them now I’ve been researching the difference of fishing the East Coast from the West Coast. It’s kind of a learning experience.. always happily learning stuff from captain CA great angler tight lines peace out
👊🏼
My 1st Texas snook on topwater was on a Top Dog, still have that guy from over a decade ago in the box lol, Duke dog is up this summer, great products, thanks for sharing behind the scenes from Mirror-Lure
Love hearing stories like these about Mirrolure culture!
Bow to the silver king!!! Great stuff CA
Why the switch from modified Albright to the FG as of late? I like both but just curious on what dictates the change
Austin- I still use the Modified Albright on all of my leaders shorter than 4’. But these longer leaders that I have to reel up through most of my guides on the rod… merits the FG. Great question my friend👏🏼
@@flatsclasscharters I appreciate the response! I’ll have to keep that in mind! Thanks !
I’ve been doing a lot of the bottom contact unintentionally just because I’m fishing shallow oyster beds and I’ll get snagged every 5 seconds then have about 5 seconds of static swim but I’ve been killing it with the snook lately so now I’ll do it intentionally 😂
Incidental learning is often the best way to
Sounds to me like that particular braid might be good for a topwater setup too
Yes. Actually most of my inshore rods are spooled up with Diamond White Braid now. Remember white and grey braids are the least detectable in our style of fishing!
Tarpon are getting smarter. I'm teaching them some lessons at the 20 to 30 class ranges.
Question, if I may.. I am spooling my new Saragosa 8000 with 40 lb. braid, should I use the 10 lb. mono backing as you did for the lower weight braid in this episode? or should that be increased? As always, thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Thanks for the video.
Man I know people fished all their life with 1 or no real fish. They don't care it's about being there. That's why it's "Fishing and not Catching". Except for me I am the catcher man lol.
Say CA, do you know of a guide in the Charlotte Harbor area by the name of Larry Mendez, I went fishing with him when I was 14 in the early 90's, just wondering what happened to him
I remember Larry… believe he sold real estate as well as the guide gig. Don’t know whatever happened to him though… ask Capt Scott Moore they were friends
@@flatsclasscharters Thanks CA
You like these better than the teaxs eyes?
Good stuff Capt
how far from the hook do you put your float? Also, what kind of float do you prefer?
Depends on depth for where you set your float depth. For instance in 8-10’ of water you may set depth for 4’ above live bait. Floats I prefer depend on size of live bait… weighted cigar float for crabs for casting distance or bigger styro float for pnfish.
@@flatsclasscharters Thank you! I usually fish the jetties in Charleston and never target them cause I don't have any rigs. I will try soon! Thanks!
Just in time for tarpon season! I just upgraded my tarpon setup to the saragosa 6000 with 30# braid on a teremar Xh 8’ rod. Ready to chase some poon!
Go get’em!
I remember as a kid in Jr. High going out into the Everglades to our cabin and wading in the deeper sloughs around our head . Spotting laid up bass and sometimes a snook against a fallen tree or knee protruding from the water. But would happen to spot so many other diverse birds frogs spiders and an occasional praying Mantis perched on a reed or cypress tree . We always forgot the time . And regardless of having one or two fish on a stringer tied to our belt. Their was no place more rewarding too be. Of course until I realized the benefits of Marriage 😮 Too simply be out in this incredible environment can alter you path you thank you chose. . But the reality is , it drew you into its web .
Got any room on the boat? 😂
😂
If you had to cast light to medium sized lures all day with a 3500 sized spinning reel and 15 lb braid what would your choice be? Assuming saltwater and need to skip some under mangroves. Thks
Rod or Lures?
7’6 medium fast rod with a 3k stradic
The Rod. All of my rods are feel heavy and I have a light reel now BG/MQ and want a similar rod
